Meteor Shower

Every year we have a chance to see a meteor shower. This week was our chance. We decided to spend the night on the trampoline and watch the meteor shower. We got our pillows and blankets and were ready to go!

We had a good time! It was so neat and the boys loved being able to see it.

We did not make it all night though. It was pretty cold and wet. Ewwww! I guess because it was hot during the day and cool at night, it was dewy. My pillow and blanket and everything was wet...yuck. Also, Brock and I had both posted on our FB page that I was outside with the boys and I started thinking about all the bad things that could happen. So about 3 am I woke the boys up and inside we went for a good night's sleep.

A Day at the Park

The weather was so nice on Monday that I decided we need to make the most of the day, so Jaime and I packed up the kids and our lunches and headed to the park to play and have a picnic.

We had a lot of fun. The boys weren't too excited about feeding the ducks, but the park was fun!

They loved the...I can't remember the name of it...but they all liked it except for Kaden.

I love it when Connor and Jax play together and get along!

This last picture is of Kaden eating a fudgesicle...at least he was outside, but why didn't I take his shirt off first?

Kaden's 2nd Birthday Party

Kaden had a great birthday party. We had a pool party and I think that everyone had a good time and the best part was that I didn't have to clean my house to have a party and then clean up after the party!!! Kaden loves to be in the water so it was a perfect party. Normally I wouldn't have a swimming party for a 2 year old, but it turned out great.

I was in Houston most of the week at a math conference for school so it was great that we were sharing the pool with the Perkins and Jaime did a lot of last minute party stuff!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Kaden

My baby boy is 2 years old today. I can't believe it. Time is flying by so fast that I feel like I am going to wake up tomorrow in an empty house because they are all away at college. It is scary!!!

My K, he is such a sweetie. He has changed so much in the last couple of months. For the longest time he wouldn't give kisses or anything, but that has all changed. He gives lots of kisses and even more hugs. Every night before bed he has to go through the house and hug each one of us.

My sweet boy is very demanding though. He will demand he gets what he wants and will not stop until he gets it. He loves his brothers and copies everything they do. He especially follows Jaxson around and copies his every move. He is now very interested in his baby sister and always tries to give her toys and play with her.

He loves to watch cartoons. His favorites are Backyardigans and Spongebob. He loves to play outside. The slide is his favorite place to be. He also loves swimming.

He loves to eat and is my only kid that will eat what ever I give him. His favorites are fruit snacks, crackers, and spaghetti-o's.

I love you Kaden, you are a wonderful child and I thank God for you every day. I can't wait to see what the next year brings and what you grow to be.

Boys Will Be Boys

Today was such a chaotic day. First of all, last night I could not sleep so I think I got maybe 4 hours of sleep. So, that of course did not start my day off very well.

Apparently Kaden resents the time that I spend feeding and caring for Halle. While feeding her, he went into the bathroom and played in the toilet with the toilet paper and there were globs of wet toilet paper and water all over the bathroom floor. This isn't the first time he has done this. If I find it while it is wet, it is relatively easy to clean up, if not...the clean up is not so easy.

Later Jax comes to me to tell me that Kaden was playing in the bathroom. He did the same thing this time, but it was not only on the floor, but on the wall and ceiling as well. I think he might of had a bit of help from his brother. Here are a couple of pictures to show what it looked like.

A little later Kaden comes to me wet. He is in just a diaper and his chest and face is wet. He was trying to tell me something, but I can't always decode so I told him to show me. He takes me to Jax who is hiding with carpet cleaner. As I got closer to Jax I could smell the cleaning liquid. He had sprayed it in K's eyes so I was a bit worried.

So I put Kaden in the shower to get the water to run in his eyes in case there was anything in them and to wash the toilet water off of his body.

Just another day in the Callaway house. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!!!

Six Flags

Tuesday we took Connor and Jax to Six Flags. We had a really good time. Connor and I had tickets from the Six Flags Reading Program and so we just had to use them. I am not good in the heat and in crowds. A few of our friends that had already gone told us that the park was empty when they went or drove past so I was pretty sure that I wouldn't have to deal with the crowds. We were waiting until a day that it wasn't 105 to go, because I would be miserable and in turn make everyone else miserable! So when we had a "cold front" on Monday, we decided to go Tuesday.

We started out with a big breakfast at Denny's before.

We got to Six Flags at about 11. It wasn't too hot yet and I was happy!

Last time we went to Six Flags, Connor was a dare devil and rode everything he could, including the Shock Wave. Jaxson is a dare devil himself so we assumed that he would ride everything. We decided to break him in on the Runaway Mine Train.
He LOVED it, so we were off to the Judge Roy Scream. He didn't like that one so much. Jax is not a fan of heights so the big drops are not his idea of fun. He loved the El Sombrero, the Log Ride, the Texas Tornado and the other smaller rides. His and Connor's all time favorite was the Runaway Mine Train, which we rode over and over and over! Connor and I rode Tony Hawk's Big Spin and said he loved it but would not ride it again! We had a great time and it is so much fun to see the joy on their face while at the park. I can't wait to take them back....when it is cooler outside!

Here are a few more pics from the day.

4th of July

Every 4th of July, we go to Brock's parent's house for a cook-out and fireworks. We always have a really good time. PawPaw and MawMaw were there as well. We don't get to see them as much as we would like to we were happy to have them there. We ate burgers and then waited for dark so that we could start popping firecrackers.

The boys got to take the fireworks from Papa to Brock to light them, so they were very happy to help. Kaden didn't like the loud noise so he stayed inside with me and Halle. I was very tired so I was happy to lay on the floor and play with Halle. Kaden wanted to be outside so bad, but he was just too scared. He would get off the couch and start to go outside and then he would hear the loud boom and run back and sit down!

The boys stayed the night with Papa and Nana and we took Halle home with us.

We watched the Rockwall Fireworks on Saturday from the church building. We have a perfect, noncrowded view of the show from behind the church.

Here are some pics from the night:

There was a game set up where you try to shoot a basket and if you got it, you would be sprayed with water...something tells me that my boys' skills aren't this developed yet....

Miss Halle sent most of the night with Miss Heather.

And Kaden spent the whole night going up and down the slide with his good pal, Macie!

The Last Couple of Weeks

We haven't done much the last couple of weeks. We've gone swimming at my mom's house and a friend of a friend's house. We went swimming at mom's the Saturday before Father's Day. Robbie and his family decided to come join us and even grandma and grandpa got in!

We also went to the Royse City Sprinkler park. I went to my check-up from my gall bladder surgery and everything looks good.

Connor, Jax, and I went to Hawaiian Falls the day before my birthday. We had a lot of fun but we decided to go on the one day that it wasn't 105...it was only 88 and we were cold in the water at some point...oh well!!

We went to El Fenix on Wednesday for my birthday and then Brock's parents took us to Snuffers on Thursday.

On Thursday, I got quite a bit done before noon. I went up to school for about an hour, got Jax and K's hair cut and got the oil changed in the car...all with all four kids. People still look at me like I am an alien with all my kids, but it makes me laugh.

Is it possible to know less with each child??? It is so funny, when talking with friends, most of the time they expect me to know more because I have 4 kids. Some how it is completely opposite. I feel like I know less.

With Connor, he was sleeping in his bed, in his room on the first night home from the hospital. Jaxson slept in a cradle next to me on the couch. I was on the couch because I was so sore from the c-section that I couldn't get up into my bed. With Kaden, he slept in my arms on the couch for weeks! I had this irrational fear that if I feel asleep and was not holding him that he would die. After several weeks of that, he slept in the cradle next to me. He stayed in the cradle until he was much to big for it. I don't think that he went into his crib until he was 6 months old. With Halle, I had those same fears, just worse. I go to her room and look at all of her beautiful clothes and I have this overwhelming fear that I won't get to see her wear them. I know that it stems from me wanting a little girl so bad for so long and not thinking that I was going to get one. Anyways, she has slept in the bed with Brock and I since right before I went back to work. Last night Brock made me put her in her cradle. I had a really hard time with it though. I will try to keep doing it. I know it is best for all of us. That is the thing, I know that and have always known that. My mom always said not to let kids sleep in your bed. It's just funny to me because usually it would be the reverse...by the 4th kid you just throw them in the bed on the first night, right?

Anyways, I think it is funny because I feel like a first time mom these days, maybe it is just because she is a girl. I am really trying to go by the book this time. Doctors say not to give them cereal or food for the 1st 4-6 months. With the boys, they had it really early. I have not started it with Halle and she is 13 weeks old. I tried it once, but it didn't go over well. Doctors also say back to sleep. None of the boys slept on their back, they always slept on their tummies. Halle is always on her back. Again, it seems like you would go by the book on the 1st babies and running your own show on the 4th, right?

2nd Week of Summer!!!!!

Sunday was a busy day. I had two baby showers to go to. One of them was for a good friend of mine's daughter and the other was for a friend from church. I took Halle with me and Brock took the boys swimming at mom's house. I had a lot of fun showing Halle off and everyone thought she was adorable. I believe she wore three different, super cute outfits that day. Brock took the boys swimming and the Perkins went with them. I think that they all had a ton of fun. The boys love it when Brock goes swimming because we usually go during the week while he is working.

On Monday, we met a friend of mine at Harry Myers to play at the sprinkler park. The boys had fun. The fun didn't last very long for Connor, I think he is growing out of the sprinkler park. Jax had a great time though. Kaden walked around the water for most of the time that we were there, but at the end he was having a great time...of course then it was time to go!

Of course, Halle was there and looked cute as usual!

On Tuesday, we went over to the Perkins for dinner. Each week we take turns cooking dinner for each other. It is wonderful to know that you don't have to cook dinner at least one night a week. On Wednesday, I went to a professional development. It was a lot of fun and I several of my friends were there. Thursday we cooked dinner for the Perkins and the kids played for quite awhile. Today we went swimming at my mom's house. We had a lot of fun. Sorry no pictures. I had three boys crawling all over me and didn't get a chance to take any. Mom watched Halle while we played in the pool. I was so impressed by the boys. Connor was diving under water to get things at the bottom of the pool and swimming like a fish. Jaxson swam the whole time without floaties, which has never happened! We was doing really well! Kaden finally got the hang of his water suit. We don't have anything planned for the weekend. We'll see what happens!

The First Week of Summer and Swimming Lessons

I am a bit sad that we are one week down because I know that the summer goes by so fast. Usually it is over and I wonder where all the time went. I am hoping to be able to keep up with my blog this summer. We'll see how that goes.

First let me add a picture of Halle from Sunday. I caught her first smile on camera. She is so beautiful.

Connor and Jaxson had swimming lessons this week with Laura Wade. She is wonderful. This was their second time to take lessons with Mrs. Laura.

Jaxson went first each day. Jaxson had lessons with his good friends Camryn and Maddie. They all did great. Jaxson is not afraid of the water at all or putting his head under, but during lessons he didn't always want to do it. The last two days we had to talk him into jumping in, but normally he loves to jump in and go underwater.

Connor got to take lessons with his good friend Caroline and two friends from church, Austin and Justin. He already knew how to swim from last year's lessons but this year they were working on developing his strokes and diving off the diving board. He did really well!

The challenge of the week was to keep Kaden and Halle happy for the hour we were there. Halle slept a lot of the time and they had plenty of toys for Kaden to play with. Here is a pic of Halle in her shades.

Also, I put Halle in a super cute outfit for church Wednesday night. Brock said she looked like a clown, so Jaxson started calling her clown girl. I thought she looked adorable and so did everyone at church. This is just another reason why Brock has no authority on Halle's clothing!

Kaden and Halle

So, until now Kaden has not had too much to do with his little sister. Now he loves to sit by her and play with her. Before bed, he is sure to give her a hug and kiss. It warms my heart every single time.
